In this area you can go to Mass. Hardware, Waltham, Diehl's Lumber, Wellesley, and there is a place in Waltham that just sells Formica (I can't remember the name but use the yellow pages.) Self adhesive vinyl tiles won't make a very nice desk top. They are made to compress under the feet and will do under the pressure of a pen and leave tracks. If you want to do some work, you can stain it and then polyurethane it. You will have to sand and polish it, but it does make a very durable finish. Ed Lafferty linus!ell
