I don't remember a location being mentioned, but I guess I assumed that the venture would be close to Genentech in S. San Francisco. Other than that, HP has an electronic instruments division in Lake Stevens (which is close to Seattle) but I haven't heard of any bio-instrument stuff there. (HP's medical stuff is in Massachusetts.)
