Lines: 16 How about creating temporary discussion sub-groups? For example, create a 'net.sf-lovers.temp' (I know, I don't like that name either; suggestions for a better name are hereby asked for). When topics like the current Dr-Who topic start getting really verbose, and annoying to the rest of the discussion group, it can be proposed that Dr. Who. discussion moves to 'net.sf-lovers.temp' for the duration of the discussion. When a temp discussion dies out, the group is available for the next temp discussion. If a discussion lasts a long time (like over two or three months), then there is a very good rationale for it to have its own permanent newsgroup. -- ^-^ Bruce ^-^ University of Maryland, Computer Science {rlgvax,seismo}!umcp-cs!israel (Usenet) israel.umcp-cs@CSNet-Relay (Arpanet)
