I have met S.O.'s in several different types of places.  

One I met in a bar.  I felt on impluse that he was a really nice guy
so I gave him my phone number.  Usually I will NEVER give out my
number to a complete stranger.

Once I invited this man I adored to a houswarming party I was throwing
for myself.  At the end of the evening I kissed him.

In one of my classes I picked out a very nice looking guy and kept
smiling at him and creating reasons to talk to him until he asked me
out.

One was a roommate of mine for one year.  When the household broke
apart and we lived separately we got together.  While we lived
under one roof neither of us made any moves toward the other.

I don't know if any of these situations can help to give anyone any
ideas how to meet S.O.'s in the future but they worked for me in the
past!
