It has been two years together, then a couple apart type of thing...It's especially difficult now since we are about 3 airplane hops apart by just about any algorithm, so even tho we finally are earning enough that the visiting and phoning is financially bearable, it's such a pain to commute that it doesn't make sense for less than four day week-ends, so we've been seeing each other maybe once a month. I think the relationship continues to work because (a) we both feel we've lucked into something pretty good with each other and (b)we're both too busy/lazy to start anything new. He is hoping to come to NJ when his degree is done, which causes my major concern since I HAVE seen people manage to piece together LDR's that fall apart as soon as the couple finally gets together. I worry that I've gotten used enough to having my own space (without his stupid cigarette smoke) and eating and sleeping on my own schedule (and eating what I feel like rather than a compromise) and so on to shift easily back to living together...
