I agree with "better to have loved and lost than never to have
loved at all."  Part of the reason is this: in my pre-MOTOS days,
I used to wonder if there was something terribly wrong with me
that I could not detect but was immediately obvious to any and
all members-of-the-opposite-sex.  Bad news.  But after a couple
of relationships I began to feel much better about myself. "Oh
wow, it *is* possible for a girl to like me!" It is now much
easier to be MOTOS-less, since I know that I am merely between
relationships, rather than some freak that is doomed forever.
