Almost, I would say, the non-demanding ones are not really friends. In a friendship, each has a certain set of demands and responsibilities. It is certainly not all take and not all give. I think that I would treat anyone that was completely supportive and non-demanding like terra firma, ie. I would step on them. This is not to say that that's what I'd like to do, or would think is proper, but it is most likely true.
