I was involved in one of those wild experiences. I met a special lady when I was a junior at Purdue. We dated for nearly two years. When I graduated I took a job at Bell Labs in Indianapolis. Problem was she lived in the Chicago area (about 170 miles) . I done a hell of a lot of commuting down scenic I-65 and I-80/94. Also, I almost had a few heart attacks when I received some of those triple digit phone bills. This continued for about 2.5 years. I have to agree with those on the net that said it depends on both individuals involved. If you want it bad enough, you have to work hard. We both wanted it to work, and it did. Glad to say that I'm now happily married to that special lady.
