Well, I tried to ship out the christmas picture, but unfortunately
it is a binary file (with terminal control characters), and news
chokes on binary files.  Is there a UN*X utility somewhere that
takes binary files and makes them suitable for submitting to the
net?  I could easily write one, but then only people who had
my program could put the file back into binary form.  Nobody
around here seems to know of one. <sigh!>
