What I actually said was OK, but the current unit is in one piece -- which is not to say that the breathing oxygen is used for propellant. I don't know what the propellant is, but I can't imagine that it comes from the breathing supply. My guess is hydrogen peroxide. The little hand-held maneuvering gun used by Ed White on Gemini 4 had its own compressed oxygen tank.
