I meant the "area" part of the name (i.e., the TAMPA BAY Bucaneers, the SEATTLE Seahawks, etc.), not the identity part (i.e., the Tampa Bay BUCANEERS, the Seattle SEAHAWKS, etc.). I looked at my atlas yesterday and saw that the Tampa Bay area includes the cities of Tampa, Clearwater, St. Petersburg, and (stretching it a little) Sarasota, Florida. The total population of the area (including other smaller towns) is around 1 million people. I guess that's why they use the name Tampa Bay and not just Tampa. I still think it's silly. Scott Pector
