The BBC have made several Christmas specials by editing together the episodes of a story. These are typically 75 minutes in length (for a 4 episode story). I'm not aware that the BBC has sold these to any other TV stations. I've just remembered that when KTEH first started showing Dr. Who (Baker) they had some episodes that had clearly been edited for American television. They had an American accented voiceover narrating the story and parts of the episodes were left out. To me it was like watching a cinema film edited for television. The episodes were ruined. Thankfully these seem to have sunk without trace (at least on KTEH). They may even have edited some episodes together. Maybe what you saw was one of those butchered episodes. -- From the Tardis of Mark Callow msc@qubix.UUCP, decwrl!qubix!msc@Berkeley.ARPA ...{decvax,ucbvax,ihnp4}!decwrl!qubix!msc, ...{ittvax,amd70}!qubix!msc
