Frequently when I have given a vi global command who's output turns out to
be far too lengthy to live with, and I hit <del>, vi hangs and no amount
of additional <del>s or <quit>s (or anything else I could think of) would
return my session to me. The only thing I can do when that occurs is to
kill the process from another session. Naturally, I can (and do) try to avoid
hitting <del> during global commands, but I would be interested to know
if anyone out there knows why this occurs (I'm sure someone does...) and
what the fix is.  I am using version 3.6.
