In jest, I renamed the UCSD chapter of the Society of Women Engineers the "Wenches with Wrenches". I got a *lot* of flak for this, but the name caught on, and is used jokingly by the women in the group. The point I am trying to make is that you can use just about any form of address if you know the person, and everyone is aware of the context the term is used in. However, it is really offensive when an outsider uses this "in" term. If unsure of the situation, I always use the most formal forms of address, it's the safest method. I'm thinking of donating a wrench to use instead of a gavel at the SWE meetings. I just hope the president doesn't hit me with it! --- Cindy Paloma UCSD Computer Center {decvax,philabs,ihnp4}sdcsvax!sdccsu3!zz1cp "Always look on the brighter side of life!"
