     Several years ago I saw a Johnny Carson show during which he
had some fellow show up and display a, well, *strange-looking* animal.

     This animal  [ please, no comments from geneticists ] had the
front end of a house-cat (paws w/claws, head w/pointy ears, eyes
w/vertically-slit pupils) but the aft-end of a rabbit!  A tuft of fur
for the tail (thats what I call it), no cat claws, and this animal
WALKED on the forelegs and HOPPED on the hindlegs.  I think the beast
had white fur.

     Does anyone out in net.land remember this show or the animal?
And maybe a pointer to exactly what year it happened in?
