I suppose I should have noted on my cassettes failing with age comment of
several days ago, that my cassette deck is a Nak 680ZX, which does have the
3 head monitoring feature - However, I fear that mechanical failure of
cassettes is an inherent problem with the cassette medium and even good decks
have the problem.
Also, I'd like to reiterate that there are only two safe head cleaners to use
on tape deck heads - isopropyl alcohol and Freon TF.  Any other compound like
the Audiotex solution can damage tape head encapsulants.
