Mr. Wray and a friend of his purchased several items from me the last time I posted equipment for sale, part of the transaction included turntable isolation feet at the price of $10. At the time I posted the ad, and when Mr. Wray told me that he wished to purchase the isolation feet, I thought I knew exactly where they were. However in the course of events -- I moved recently and some friends lived with us for a few months -- I found the isolation feet were not to be found. (I later realized that I had lent them to this friend and we had both forgotten about it -- he had them packed away with his belongings when he moved out.) Anyway, I sent all the items to Mr. Wray except the isolation feet in December. Mr. Wray and I communicated shortly thereafter and I explained that I couldn't put my hands on the isolation feet, but I knew they were somewhere -- I offered to send him the $10 back, but Mr. Wray stated that he was more interested in the getting the isolation feet than having his money back. I continued to look for these elusive things, not knowing where they were. We communicated again in the first part of January and I told Mr. Wray at that time that I would look for the feet over the weekend and if I couldn't find them then I would send him him money back. He seemed satisfyed. Well, that weekend my friend and I talked and we both seemed to recollect that he might have the isolation feet -- he agreed to pursue searching. I thought of communicating with Mr. Wray at that time but decided not to as there was really nothing new. Well, it took a week and a half, but my friend found the isolation feet in his boxed-up belongings (he's waiting to buy a house). I tried to phone Mr. Wray, however the phone number (I know now) in the Bell Labs directory in incorrect -- I thought he was out on vacation or something. To conclude, Mr. Wray wrote a flame on this net questioning my credibility (since he hadn't heard from me and he was expecting either a check or the isolation feet by mid-January) -- maybe I should have called him earlier to let him know of my progress, no excuses. I just have to chalk this up to lack of communication -- I hope all is forgiven as the isolation feet are in the mail. (I didn't want to send them before I could get in touch with him -- the computer address in his flame let me check his address and phone number out.) Craig Dory AT&T Bell Laboratories Holmdel, NJ
