I recommend a very good book "for her own good, 150 years of the expert's advice to women" by Ehrenreich and another woman whose name escapes me right now which deals partly with the topic of "sexist surgery". It is considered by "authorities" to be one of those rabbid feminist books, and as I am not an "expert" on any of the topics mentioned in the book, I do not know how accurate it is historically, but it IS very interesting!
