Message-ID: <539@seismo.UUCP> Date: Mon, 23-Jan-84 13:11:37 EST Article-I.D.: seismo.539 Posted: Mon Jan 23 13:11:37 1984 Date-Received: Fri, 27-Jan-84 06:16:50 EST Organization: Center for Seismic Studies, Arlington, VA Lines: 24 I'm sure this question has been asked before(once or twice, maybe), but is it possible to get some subset of uucp working on a non-Unix mainframe? We have two Suns and an anachronistic Univac 1100/81 in-house. The Univac systems people, feeling somewhat left out by the networked Suns, want a fairly streamlined method of file transfer to/from the Suns like uucp. I am therefore passing along their request in the form of the following series of questions, roughly graded from 'wishful thinking' to 'possible': a) Does anyone have uucp working on a Univac 1100/81 ? b) Does anyone have a version of uucp in Fortran, with the understanding that a few system-dependent machine language routines may be necessary ? c) Is the specification of the uucp protocol proprietary, and if not, is a copy of the appropriate documentation available anywhere ? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. Please mail replies to me. Jim Wang, S-CUBED (wang@seismo, seismo!wang, seismo!s3solar!jim)
