End in (mid) December. Universities: Start in March. End in (late) November. Breaks are in May for fall break and Sept for spring break. Christmas break is the long *summer* break between grade levels. PhD pgms in Com Sci: Contact the Austrailian Embassy in Wash D.C or the "Australian Consulate General" in the large cities. Some Univ to consider: Sydney, NWS; Flinders, SA; UW Melbourne, VIC; The above info provided by my wife (an Aussie) and she insisted that I add a statement to the effect that Australian schools are of a very high standard. So done.
