	Actually, I once took a course in anthropology wherin the professor
related a story about a particular society where the link between sex and
pregnanacy was not understood.  The members of this society believed that
there were "ghost babies" that would, at times, crawl into women.  The purpose
of sex was to feed(!) the baby until it grew large enough to come out of the
woman and live on its own.
