At the first BK, we always micro-waved the sandwiches after making them. This was done (I suppose) to keep the whole sandwich warm. I believe that the official BK policy is that only the bottom part of the bun, the meat and the cheese (if ordered) are to be microwaved. This isn't necessary if the meat has just come off the broiler. Two things: generally, BK is a little more cooperative as far as special orders go (I mean they never ask you to park it...), so they shouldn't give you a hard time if you ask them not to micro-wave your sandwich. The other thing is that I never worried about what the micro-wave did to the lettuce... I'm still wondering what it did (or could do) to me for standing in front of the thing for 4 years.
