Now, I'm pretty certain that counterfolk are instructed to do this by management, in an attempt to boost sales. === You betcha they're instructed to do this. Management will do just about anything to increase sales. More sales means more money in their pocket. I used to work at a hamburger joint (not Macs) and we were told to ask the customers if they wanted a "regular or small" when ordering soft drinks. If I asked "large or small?" a majority of the customers asked for small, but if I asked "regular or small", they chose regular!
