Here is a puzzling article from whuxle!eric:

Despite your claims, it is obvious that you did post this article purely as
a personal attack.  This is obvious because nothing even remotely like what
you describe happened in the discussion we are talking about.  I had been
completely uninvolved in the discussion, posting no articles or mail on the
subject.  A bunch of articles appeared which claimed that someone else's
data had been discredited.  No one posted a reference on the discreditation,
but there had been a reference on the original data, so I asked for
references.  (Thanks to all those who responded.)  The discussion was not
turning against me, since I was completely uninvolved; as well to say "The
fight is turning against Cooney" in a Holmes-Ali match!

Seen in this light, I find it impossible to interpret your article as
anything other than a blatant and uncalled-for personal attack without
substance or intelligence.  In other words:  Go fuck yourself, Eric.  I
don't need this shit.
