While frozen patties may look that way, its not that they've been dyed, but they were actually cooked before being frozen and then are microwave heated at the "'"Restaurant"'". This information informally relayed to me from an officemate whose sister did some market research for BK on whether the pre-cooked frozen microwave burgers were less acceptable to the consumer. From the evidence that doesn't seem to be true. Microwave cooking may actually have certain advantages that I have not previously taken into account, and may actually have health benefits (!) compared to ordinary cooking.
