When the shifter was moved to the floor, I had to wire a new back-up light switch because the switch for the column shifter was at the base of the steering column. I took the lazy way out and mounted a manual switch on the control panel. One day this Dodge Colt came up behind me like a bat out of Phoenix and sat 1 foot from my rear bumper, then flashed its headlights at me to get out of its way(this happened in broad daylight on the Bayshore Freeway near San Mateo, Calif.).
