It is not unusual for a goverment to raise money thru activities that are
illegal in the private sector, in fact MOST of them are.

Can you imagine a private company running the social security system? They
would be arrested for running a pyramid scheme. Most income taxes are a
form of protection money, "give us a cut or we'll throw you in jail and take it
anyway". Thats OK for the goverment but not the mafia.It seems that the rules
that the goverment lives by are very different than the ones they make for us.

The goverment seems to be able to get away with murder at times.
