But back to being serious. Although Roosevelt did give gifts at the Yalta Conference, you might want to consider that those gifts were given to keep the troops of Russia, which had come damn near losing and had millions of casualties, on the offensive instead of stopping their offensive, which cost them many, many more lives. As to anyone that brought an end to the Great Depression, desperate steps had to be taken, which included instituting the dole in America. he was a great President in dangerous time that "steered the Ship of our country into a safe port." And, I think that Reagan will also go down in history as great of a President. He has taken an economy that was teetering on the edge of the cliff that was the same one we already went over in 1929 on Black Friday, thanks in part to the dole state that we have been suffering from. Although his constituency may include the crackpots that you describe ("religous fanatics" and "crazy people with guns" to paraphrase you), they are part of his constituency, same as radical perverts and terrorists and liberals (nice Cicero's tricolon... let's put a few more logs on the fire), not to mention the man-boy buggering brotherhood. (By the way, there will be an upcoming flame on the discustingness of that subject). Reagan's votes will come from those that look at what they had before he went into office and compare it to what they have now... namely jobs, lower inflation, and an expanding economy. Could I say that he is pilotting us out of the "whirlpool of democratic disaster."
