Gee.. I must be lucky. I tried the DECtalk number as soon as I saw the
article, and it worked real swell! I just tried it again 2 minutes ago,
and it still works...

Maybe you got the number wrong. The number I used was (617)493-8255.

Maybe your phone system is fritzed (or your phone company). I called
from Pacific Telephone... oops PacTel... oops Pacific Bell. (I'll
get it right eventually)
