True, *I* don't care if you go ahead
and bash your head in on the windshield
by not driving around with a seatbelt.

However, there is no such thing as a 
"free" society:  society always 
infringes on the freedom of the 
individual to protect him/others from
his stupidity.

Aside from this, there is a good
*MONETARY* reason for seatbelt/helmet
laws.  When you get your head bashed
in, it costs *MONEY* to have it fixed.
In Canada, with socialized medicine,
that means literally millions of 
dollars a year spent on operations that
may have been prevented or at least
lessened in seriousness.

Multiply each person who thinks like
you by a couple of million and you get
a hefty bill.
