(mctesq was here)", a ring of teleportation is free, i.e. it doesn't use any extra food. I have often used one to my advantage in what would otherwise be a lost game (even without using remove curse). It's a slow approach, but you've got to use what you can. If you can manage to get into wizard mode you can find out exactly how much extra food a ring requires.
