Can anyone tell me what are the legal distributions?  Is a distribution
simply the name of some news group?  I know of usa and nj as two
distributions.

Also, some terminology help, please.  What does the " - (nf)" mean
on the subject line?

Lastly, if " :-) " means tongue in cheek, then does "-:)" stand 
for flames?
