Continous Coverage MX5000 Scanner Message-ID: <1688@ihuxf.UUCP> Date: Wed, 4-Jan-84 11:03:42 EST Article-I.D.: ihuxf.1688 Posted: Wed Jan 4 11:03:42 1984 Date-Received: Thu, 5-Jan-84 01:08:55 EST Organization: AT&T Bell Labs, Naperville, IL Lines: 29 x New Continuous Coverage MX5000 Scanner Announced Regency Electronics just announced the MX5000 scanner, a 20 channel unit which covers 25 through 550 MHz without gaps. Front panel buttons (on a membrane keyboard) allow selection of FM, WBFM, and AM modes. The MX5000 has an LCD display and a digital clock. Search increments are selectable: 5, 12.5, and 25 KHz. Front panel switches control keyboard lock and dial lighting. The scanner will be available in February and list for about $600. The MX5000 unit looks just like the one announced months back from Fanon. Rumor has it that Fanon withdrew it, along with a new continous coverage handheld scanner, that Regency now offers as the HX3000. Sounds like the two are from overseas. A call to Regency, at (317)545-4281, will get you a data sheet. -- ============================================================================ Robert S.
