This is the version that I grew up with:
        
        
        One dark night in the middle of day,
        Two dead boys went out to play.
        Back to back they faced each other,
        Drew their swords and shot each other.
                      
        One deaf cop heard all this noise,
        And came to rescue the two dead boys.
        If you don't believe this story is true,
        Just ask the blind man.
