dciem!mmt's shaggy dog story is a classic.  The version
I heard had the last question be 'Who was the greatest
baseball player of all time' andthe dog said 'RUTH!"

Outside, the man asked the dog why he had said that,
and the dog answered "Maybe I shoulda said DiMaggio?"
