For a long time before "the metric system", the following
applied for discussions on dating and "making-out":

1 hobie = 1 cubic mouthful

After "the metric conversion" we had:

1 herm = 1 metric cubic mouthful

The obvious discussions ensued as "yes, but how many herms?"
and "well, I don't know but I think it was about 6 herms."

... for what it wasn't worth; such as it is, mama!
