Anderson (VLD/ATB) If you run through the Wordstar installation again and perform a custom printer installation, you can lie to it. For example, when it asks you for the character sequence to switch to alternate character pitch, you can give it the character sequence to switch to half-height characters. This is not a pleasant solution, but you will be able to access those capabilities that Wordstar doesn't allow for. Obviously, Wordstar will not adjust its menus to reflect the inconsistency. Upon re-reading your message, it occurred to me that just performing a custom installation might solve many of your problems. Wordstar does provide for many capabilities (including boldface, but I don't have the manual handy to check for the others). If you have the latest version, a custom printer installation is easy. Just a matter of sitting down with the printer manual and answering a lot of questions. Older versions are very unfriendly. John Anderson jra@brl
