This is built by Micro Data Base Systems (I have no connection with them, although they are a West Lafayette company). I have read the manual on KMAN and it really looks exciting. I know one professor who has used dBASE II heavily and has now converted most of his work over to KMAN. You can have more than one file open at a time, with multiple index relations, and updates will take care of updating all of them as required. It also has really nice screen formatting and report formatting capabilities. Index files are B+trees. Query language is essentially SQL as seen on IBM's mainframe DBMS. Limits on number of fields, etc. are much larger than dBASE II. Most of them are something like 65535 fields. Tom Putnam ...pur-ee!pucc-h:ac4
