      We here at Dartmouth are requiring the freshmen to purchase Apple
      Mackintoshes when they enter next year.  -- Richard Brown
 
Actually, Mr. Brown's information is off slightly.  We here at Dartmouth
are ENCOURAGING incoming students to buy MacIntoshes (pick your favorite
spelling!), but it is NOT compulsory.  As inducements to buy, Dartmouth
is offering financial aid assistance, is wiring all dormitories for
access to our mainframes, and is gearing up to write interesting
software packages for the little beasties.  We hope that people
will buy the machines because they seem fun or useful, not because
somebody forced them to do so.
