One question: What is an LRU ? In the equipment maintenance business, it means "line replaceable unit" a term derived from "flight line". It refers to any "box" that can be quickly replaced in an aircraft standing on the flight line. I doubt if that's what you mean by "LRU disk cache". By the way, as another bit of trivia, some folks in the maintenance business take LRU to mean "least replaceable unit", which is a small part, and is therefore the exact opposite of "line replaceable unit" - very confusing.
