board system (312-882-4228) yesterday and thought that those on
the net might be interested.

To: ALL  About: NEW DOS 2.0 FILES

IBM Product Centers and dealers have updated versions
of DOS 2.0 COMMAND.COM and FORMAT.COM files from IBM,
dated 10/20/83. These updates are officially to solve a
problem experienced by some in formatting fixed (hard)
disks. The centers/dealers will copy the new files on
DOS 2.0 system disks brought to them. On the basis of
one try, at least on other well-known problem, that of
DATE not rolling over at midnight, appears to be fixed in
the new version of COMMAND.COM. I have also found one 
inconsistency with existing programs--MONOCLOCK will
toggle on, but will not toggle off with the new
version.

[I have not tried getting copies of these updates, but
plan to soon. If anyone on the net tries, let us know
how you make out.]
