In response to my query about backing up copy protected programs two people
referred me to "Copy II PC".  My thanks to Clay Phipps and Larry Marcus.
Copy II PC program is available for $39.95 + $2.00 shipping+handling from:

    503/244-5782 (8am .. 5:30pm, Mon .. Sat)
It will not work on SPF/PC, and presumably will not work on other programs
that require you to reboot the machine to run them.
