The scene I most remember from Zardoz is the one in which Connery is being mind-scanned (I forget what they actually called it). Above his head was a screen on which was supposed to be displayed the contents of his mind. What was actually displayed was recognisable as a polarized-light micrograph of a thin section of rock.
