   I de-subscribed to net.misc because it was taking so long to wade
through it.  Net.flame is far to broad.
   As was pointed out before, there are requests all over the net for
information about this or that product (see for example, the request in
net.cook for data on food processors).  
   I think there would be a large audience for a consumer newsgroup.
