If he succeeds, his party is eligible for a substantial amount of federal matching funds based on his 1980 performance. My questions: Is there any point to this excersise? Does he really represent a dramatic departure from the candidates of the established parties? Or has he simply been bitten by the "Presidential Bug"? If he does get the Federal $$$ it will be interesting to see if the availabilty of this kind of money will have any impact on our 2 party system (and if it does, how long it lasts).
