This film is special in not only the special effects, which are fantastic even for this time, but also in the new way of looking at the Kroll not as evil monsters out to destroy/enslave/eat humanity. They are given as peaceful, super-intelligent beings that forgot that there own humble beginnings began as all intelligent being's began, in the predator. And that the predator still exists in the id. This film is landmark in its effects, rational plot, and the deviation to reality from the current plots of the other movies of the day. I think in originality, and in its uniqueness we find we can find the most revolutionary Science-Fiction Movie of all time.
