For every woman who has hurt your feelings by rejecting you, there are many who never have the opportunity to accept your, or anyone else's, offers. The social circumstances that enforce this are beginning to change, but the benefits accrue mainly to those women who need them less -- that is, those who get enough attention already. A shy man (such as myself) at least has the support of society in overcoming that shyness. A woman who must take the initiative to get any attention at all is inviting abuse. I'm impressed that the female participants have not brought up this aspect.
