I actually often feel an ache along my shoulder blades -- hug deprivation, I guess. By the way, I think that with long distance relationships the support you get from your friends is terribly important. It is a whole lot easier to be separated when most of your friends think that you are "meant for each other" (One of our friends keeps assuring us that since we have matching noses, we are a good couple; I think this is patently ridiculous, but I appreciate the concern) It's really hard to spend time with "outsiders" when you have so little time together anyhow, but I think it is important to spend time with each other's friends (especially if one or both of you have just moved to a new area and have all sorts of new friends) in order to have adequate "social support" for your relationship.
