  Though I'm still in a relationship, Steve has moved to Vermont (a LONG
way from Virginia!), so we are, in effect, separated (at least he's not
around when I need him).  Adjusting to this was quite difficult for me -
I have been constantly in one relationship or another for about six years
now (Steve and I have only been going out for ~ 1 year).  I was very lonley
for about three months (it got to the point where I was calling Vermont
about once a day just to hear his voice), and went through a lot of
insecurity problems.  It got so I was almost afraid to be alone or to do
anything without someone else.  To make a long story short, after a while
I realized I was still the person I had been before Steve, Mike, and David,
and that I still had resources.  So, in answer to your (implied) question,
I think (without knowing you at all) that you've just lost your defenses
against lonliness, and eventually they will come back.
