I don't consider myself to have fallen in love (oh, no, I'm far to sophisticated to do anything so silly as to fall in love at first sight), but it was interesting. I was flying from LV to Austin, and had to change planes in Albequerque. The young lady who worked at the Southwest Airlines counter there was truly amazing. "Charming" doesn't begin to come close. After being stunned, I sat, waiting for my plane (pray for engine trouble), watching her in action, and analyzed her behavior and my reaction. I finally decided that the main thing was that she would be standing there shuffling papers, with normal (puzzled, bland, etc. etc.) expressions on her face (NOT a glued-on smile as so many people in these positions have). Then, when someone would walk up to her, she would look up with an expression that was so happy and delighted-to-see-you that it blew my socks off! I mean, imagine what she would look like if the man she loved had just finally asked her to marry her. Right. And she did this over and over again. I almost had a stroke by the time the plane was ready to board. It certainly wasn't the case that I was attracted to her physically -- I could only see her from the shoulders up, and besides, I was busy staring starry-eyed at her face. It was those big brown eyes and that I'm-so-happy- to-see-you-you're-so-wonderful smile. Wow. So, guys, if you're ever traveling in the southwest, try VERY hard to arrange to fly Southwest Airlines (in spite of their terrible service), with a change in Albequerque. You just might get as lucky as I did. And for those of you who actually live there, well log out right now, go out to that funky little airport of yours, snuggle down into one of those comfortable old chairs, and start watching! I sure can see how this particular young lady could cause several dozen cases of love-at-first-sight a day, even though I wasn't one of thARE YOU OUT THERE, YOU BEAUTIFUL BROWN-HAIRED ANGEL? CALL ME! PLEASE! I'LL MARRY YOU TOMORROW! -- Cheers, Topher Eliot Cyb Systems, Austin, TX ihnp4!ut-sally!cyb-eng!topher
